Cross Creek Ranch again takes top honors as master-planned community

October 10, 2014

The west Houston community of Cross Creek Ranch, consistently one of the nation's top-selling master-planned communities, has won the prestigious Master-Planned Community of the Year Award presented by the Greater Houston Builders Association.

This marks the second time the Fort Bend County community has earned the prized GHBA PRISM Award as Community of the Year. Cross Creek Ranch also took home the top honor in 2012.

Cross Creek Ranch was recognized for its efforts to host quality, large-scale events such as the Fest of Tails Kite Festival, a fall art market, the Fulshear Scarecrow Festival and other gatherings which routinely draw thousands. The community also earned high marks from the GHBA for its schedule of resident activities, its sophisticated, mobile-friendly website, its Welcome Center and on-site café and its commitment to consistent public relations and social media campaigns.

"We have a great story tell and we certainly rely on all forms of communication, from advertising to good old-fashioned word-of-mouth, to share our message,"said Rob Bamford, general manager of Cross Creek Ranch.

In addition to its nature-inspired amenities, Cross Creek Ranch offers the Adventure Island Water Park, a second resort-style pool, Flewellen Creek Park, miles of hike-and-bike trails along with winding creeks and lakes, a new boardwalk and nature overlook, a full-time lifestyle director, a fitness center and sports complex with tennis, basketball and sand volleyball courts and playgrounds for all ages. The community also is home to the Flewellen Creek disc golf course and a one-acre Canine Commons Dog Park.

"To win community of the year once is a quite an accomplishment, but to win it twice speaks volumes about the quality of the community and the efforts of the team at Cross Creek Ranch team," said Doug Goff, Johnson Development's Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer.

Cross Creek Ranch has homes from the $200,000s to the millions.
