Fest of Tails Returns Saturday to Cross Creek Ranch

April 09, 2015

Giant, high-flying kites, Frisbee-catching canines and a day of dog-friendly activities are coming to Cross Creek Ranch 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday as the Fulshear master-planned community hosts the return of Fest of Tails.

Free and open to the public, the third annual event includes high-flying performances from Houston Disc Dogs, displays of giant kites and controllable kites, a Furry Friends photo booth, pet adoptions, carnival games and more. A Pawty Parade of fashionably attired pups happens at 1:30 p.m. and the Pooch-AWW-Lympics dog talent competition starts at 2:30 p.m. Registration for both events can be made online at http://www.crosscreektexas.com/fest_of_tails.

At noon, officials with Cross Creek Ranch will unveil “Four People,” a permanent outdoor sculpture commemorating the 40th anniversary of The Johnson Development Corp., developer of Cross Creek Ranch.

Event-goers also will have a chance to purchase $5 raffle tickets for the 2015 Hill Country Project Playhouse, a fundraiser for Greater Houston Builders Association’s HomeAid Houston, which benefits the Houston homeless.
