Good Neighbor, Diane Fitzpatrick, spends her free time picking up trash in our community while taking a walk. Thank you Diane for setting an example by keeping our community clean and encouraging others to take pride in Cross Creek Ranch.
Did you know that the presence of litter in a community takes a toll on quality of life, property values, and housing prices? The Keep America Beautiful 2009 National Visible Litter Survey and Litter Cost Study found that litter in a community decreases property values up to 7%.

The Cross Creek Arts Festival set for Saturday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. may well prove to be an event not to be missed.

Trendmaker Homes is now building select plans of their Living View Series in Cross Creek Ranch! Jim Peterson, Community Sales Manager has added the Living View Series to his 80’ foot homesite plan line up. Trendmaker Homes’ Living View Series offers a unique design concept developed by Trendmaker’s President, Will Holder.
These plans were designed to give buyers the expansive home and beautiful curb appeal similar to Trendmaker’s auto-court series but for less. With all the views of your home being to the front and the back of your home these plans offer more privacy eliminating the windows that you typically have on the sides of your home only to see your neighbors’ brick wall.
Jim is also currently offering the last ½ acre waterfront lots available! For more information on the Living View Series or the ½ acre section call Jim Peterson at 281-342-5486.
Cross Creek's innovative site design and integrated natural systems are setting a standard for community developers all over the U.S. Sustainable landscape architecture means "Listening to the Land", which is precisely how the Cross Creek Team approached this project from the beginning. The following story was published in the December issue of EcoStructure Magazine:
Listening to the land: Site design is merging with building design, and none too soon. By John Cutler
The sustainability movement is turning U.S. building-design norms on their head, in ways that go beyond LEED ratings and net zero energy buildings. The most fundamental principals of landscape architecture and site design—analyzing the site and environment to holistically integrate it with development—are beginning to resonate with developers, investors, and corporate users like never before. Why is the U.S. real estate industry now warming up to ideas long practiced in Europe and Asia? Because it simply has become cheaper and smarter to do so.
Several factors driving this trend are embodied in a growing number of projects completed or under way across the United States. First, the sustainability movement has created a demand-premium for eco-conscious space. Not only are LEED-rated structures leasing and selling faster, but so are facilities with sustainable features that extend outside the building such as heat-absorbing green roofs, water-cleansing bioswales, creek-side parks that previously might have been buried under culverts, and other techniques that turn natural systems into project amenities.
Katy Christian Ministries, a 25 year old 501c3 social service non-profit agency, will be expanding to the Fulshear/Simonton area on December 1, 2009. KCM will be opening a Social Service office and Food Pantry behind the Post Office in Fulshear on 5th Street.
The offices will be open Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The Social Service department will offer emergency financial assistance to those individuals that qualify, and the food pantry will be offering food on a monthly or bi-monthly basis as needed. KCM will be taking donations of food, furniture, household items and clothing.
All donations, with the exception of food, will be taken to one of the 2 Resale Store in Katy. For any questions about the services KCM offers or to volunteer please contact Michelle Johns at 281-346-8041.
Cross Creek Ranch is so excited to announce that RE/MAX Grand, The Jimmy Franklin Team, has sold their 24th home in Cross Creek Ranch!! Maria Locascio, a member of the Jimmy Franklin Team has chosen this particular home to be her own for her family!
Maria has been a great supporter of Cross Creek Ranch, Trendmaker Homes & Development and now as a homeowner she will become an ambassador to our growing community by spreading the word that Cross Creek Ranch is a wonderful community in which to live and raise a family!
Maria and the Jimmy Franklin Team support Cross Creek Ranch in all that we do. In October, Maria and her daughter were among over 300 participants that attended the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in Cross Creek Ranch benefiting St. CHRISTUS Catherine Hospital. The Franklin Team was also a proud sponsor for this wonderful event.
We Welcome Maria and the Locascio family as our newest residents of Cross Creek Ranch!
Somerset Fine Art, a local fine art publisher of 37 years, now in Fulshear, Texas, has partnered with Cross Creek Ranch to provide local artwork by Texas artists. Featured in the Cross Creek Ranch Welcome Center will be the triptych title” Los Caballos “by Texas Artist Ragan Gennusa.
Ragan Gennusa, former football player for the Texas Longhorns and lifelong artist, creates beautiful western landscapes that complement this West Houston countryside. In 1986, Ragan was honored by the State Legislature’s selecting him as the 1986-87 Texas State Artist.
Cross Creek Ranch resident Tyler Knapp, a 4th grader in the new Boy Scouts troop at Stanley Elementary, has been hard at work earning his badges. Last month, Tyler walked the trails of Cross Creek collecting any litter he could find.
Although we all work to keep the community as clean as possible, Tyler managed to fill two bags, helping him complete a community service project to earn his Citizenship pin. Tyler's parents, Parker and Ken Knapp, say that Tyler has always been environmentally-minded and seeks out opportunities to clean up the world around him.
If you have a young child, the scouts provide a great way to help them build character, make friends, and open doors of opportunity. Thank you for your contributions Tyler, we are proud to have you here at Cross Creek Ranch. Keep earning those badges!

Stanley Elementary’s PTA raised over $30,000 at its Stetsons and Stilettos for the Stampede fall fundraiser Oct. 9 at Cross Creek Ranch. Radio personality Kevin Kline from the New 93Q Morning Zoo served as the celebrity master of ceremonies.
Cross Creek Ranch and Trendmaker Homes hosted the event at their welcome center. Decked out in everything from western attire to stilettos, guests enjoyed food donated from six local restaurants with live music from Gene Neptune and Joe Kilpatrick. The auction included six highly sought after live auction items and over 150 silent auction items donated from local businesses and various Stanley parents and faculty.
“It was amazing to see all the volunteers work tirelessly to make this event possible in just a few short months,” said PTA President Courtney Doyle. The money raised will benefit the students at Stanley Elementary, which is Katy ISD’s newest school. The campus opened this past August to students living in Cross Creek Ranch, Westheimer Lakes North and Cinco Ranch Southwest.
