September 19, 2014

FULSHEAR, TX – West Houston’s biggest collection of scarecrows once again will come to life when the Fulshear Scarecrow Festival returns to the master-planned community of Cross Creek Ranch on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Admission into the festival is free and open to the public.

Besides the collection of creative, full-size scarecrows, families will enjoy live music, an all-new Carnival and food trucks, apple bobbing, face painting, pumpkin decorating and more.  All-day carnival tickets are $5 per person.

Plus, students from Huggins Elementary, Randolph Elementary and Simonton Christian Academy schools will provide music and entertainment.

Cross Creek Ranch is located minutes west of the Grand Parkway at the intersection of FM 1463 and FM 1093.

The highlight of the festival are the rows of living scarecrows created by local teams, each of which is judged for creativity and originality by those in attendance with the top-three vote getters receiving cash prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250, respectively.  This year’s theme for the scarecrow contest is Rock-N-Roll.

Proceeds from the sale of scarecrow judging ballots, food and other items at the festival benefit the Fulshear Arts Council. For information, go to www.crosscreektexas.com.

One of the nation’s top selling master-planned communities, Cross Creek Ranch continues to attract home buyers with an impressive selection of new homes ready for move in, outstanding schools and new amenities which embrace its natural surroundings.

The community is well known for its nature-inspired amenities including the restored Flewellen Creek, winding approximately 150 acres through Cross Creek Ranch.  Most recently, a new boardwalk and viewing platforms opened overlooking the community’s Polishing Pond, roughly the size of 48 football fields, where nature enthusiasts can enjoy spectacular views of the open water.
