July 07, 2016

Cross Creek Ranch continues to grow and attract new buyers, ranking in the top 10 on a list of Houston’s most active planned communities.

Housing market researcher Metrostudy ranked the Houston area’s top 25 developments based on the number of homes builders started in 2015. Cross Creek Ranch landed at No. 6 with 346 starts.

The community was one of four Johnson Development Corp. projects to be listed among the top 10. Fort Bend favorite Riverstone was ranked No. 1 with 692 starts. Builders started 409 homes in No. 4 ranked Woodforest – the highest ranking of any Montgomery County master-planned community. Riverstone’s sister community, Sienna Plantation ranked fifth with 376 starts. In all, Johnson Development projects accounted for 25 percent of the 7,366 housing starts attributed to the top 25 communities.

Winner of the 2016 People’s Choice Award for a Development of Distinction by the Urban Land Institute, Cross Creek Ranch is designed to be a sustainable community that creates a balance between residents and nature. The 3,200-acre enclave features lakes, a 50-acre pond that serves as both a wildlife habitat and a groundwater filtering system, and the restored Flewellen Creek, which winds its way through 150 acres of the development.

The surroundings are a backdrop for the community’s array of first-class amenities, including water parks, a fitness center, sports courts and an on-site café. Additionally, Cross Creek Ranch is located in Fulshear — an area recently ranked as Houston’s No. 1 place to raise a family by online review site, Niche.com.
