Head to 2016 Scarecrow Festival for Final '€˜Funtier'

October 06, 2016

Out-of-this-world creativity will help scarecrows “live long and prosper” at the 2016 Fulshear Scarecrow Festival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Cross Creek Ranch.

The highlight of the annual event is a scarecrow decorating contest, this year themed “Scarecrows: The Next Generation.” Voted on by event-goers, the winning scarecrow’s creative team receives a $1,000 grand prize. Second place will win $500 and third place receives $250.

While the scarecrows will be a star attraction, the festival also will include a carnival, live music, pumpkin decorating, face painting, bobbing for apples, jugglers and more. Admission into the festival is free and open to the public. A $10 wristband will let people play games, enjoy rides and climb a rock wall throughout the day.

Also on hand will be popular food trucks Cousins Maine Lobster, Sauer Kraut, Craft Burger, Nam Mi Street, Anna’s Greek Gourmet and Savor the Bites. Pepperoni’s and Victor’s also will have food for purchase.

Proceeds benefit Arts Fulshear and the Texana Center. Click here for more information and to see pictures and video from past festivals.
