Katy Makes List of Nation's Best Places to Live

June 05, 2017

The data is in and the rest of the nation has discovered what Cross Creek Ranch residents already know — nearby Katy with its excellent schools and small-town atmosphere is one of the most family-friendly places to live in Texas.

Our nearest neighbor placed No. 12 on HomeUnion Inc.’s list of the 30 best places to live for families, based on a combination of home affordability and access to good schools.

The Irvine, California-based online real estate investment management firm based its ranking of the top ZIP codes using home sale data from HomeUnion and school data from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Many Cross Creek Ranch children attend schools in the Katy Independent School District, including Tompkins High School which was named one of America’s top high schools by U.S. News & World Report this year. Families zoned to Tompkins High School also are zoned to Cross Creek Ranch’s on-site Randolph Elementary School and award-winning Seven Lakes Junior High School. Katy ISD recently broke ground on a second on-site elementary school slated to open August 2018.
