Gotta Love These Grades

June 14, 2017

Seven Lakes Junior High has collected additional accolades, with the recently released Children at Risk rankings placing the top-performing school at No. 6 among Houston’s 317 area middle schools.

The Katy ISD school, which serves Cross Creek Ranch kiddos, fared impressively well compared to its Texas counterparts, coming in at No. 18 among the state’s 1,995 middle schools.

But that’s not the only good news for Cross Creek Ranch parents. All of the schools serving the community earned at least an A- on the annual tally, which based on test scores, student achievement, campus performance and other criteria. Here’s how the schools line up:

Randolph Elementary
Grade: A
Houston Rank: No. 142 out of 878 elementaries
Texas Rank: No. 522 out of 4,428 elementaries

Huggins Elementary
Grade: A-
Houston Rank: No. 208
Texas Rank: No. 852

Foster High School
Grade: A-
Houston Rank: No. 61 out of 187 high schools
Texas Rank: No. 275 out of 1,371 high schools

Leaman Junior High and Fulshear High School, which both opened in August, and Tompkins High School, which opened in 2013 and graduated its first senior class this year, were not included in the report.

Children at Risk will soon have to add another Cross Creek Ranch school to its list as Katy ISD recently broke ground on Elementary No. 41 in the community.
