Share Life, Donate Blood Oct. 27

Make plans to share a pint of your life during our annual fall community blood drive on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will be at the Community Room parking lot, 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane, to receive your gift of life. In return, they will provide free juice and cookies. (Who doesn’t love free cookies?)

There is a constant need for regular a blood supply because blood can be stored for only a limited time before use. Every donation can save as many as three lives — lives that include those of children, accident victims, patients with chronic diseases and more.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Those who are age 16 and weigh 122 pounds or more can donate with parental consent. The event is open to the public.
