Somerset Fine Art Gallery Presents: The Cross Creek Ranch Collection

November 24, 2009

Somerset Fine Art, a local fine art publisher of 37 years, now in Fulshear, Texas, has partnered with Cross Creek Ranch to provide local artwork by Texas artists.  Featured in the Cross Creek Ranch Welcome Center will be the triptych title "Los Caballos" by Texas Artist Ragan Gennusa.

Ragan Gennusa, former football player for the Texas Longhorns and lifelong artist, creates beautiful western landscapes that complement this West Houston countryside. In 1986, Ragan was honored by the State Legislature's selecting him as the 1986-87 Texas State Artist. In 1993 and 1999, Ragan's art was selected for the Texas Turkey Stamps. Several of his paintings are prominently displayed in the University of Texas Alumni Center and he has done paintings for the University of Texas football program.  Larry Dyke, another Houston resident, paints beautiful bluebonnet landscapes of this area west into the Hill Country.

A Native Texan, Dyke began painting professionally in 1976. His first Lithographs were released two years later and today he has produced more that 100 limited editions and a number of open edition prints. Many of these images were sold out shortly after release and all of Dyke's limited editions are now actively sought after by collectors. The complete Cross Creek Ranch Collection will be featured and on sale, December 1st from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the Cross Creek Ranch events room.  A catalog, slide presentation as well as Stretched Giclees on Canvas will be shown during the day and evening hours. Residents in and around the Fulshear, Simonton, Katy, and West Houston areas are invited.

'We wanted to provide our neighbors at Cross Creek Ranch with a local flavor of quality artwork that would complement and accent their beautiful new homes," stated Patrick Thomas, Director of Sales for Somerset.
