New Leaman Junior High, Fulshear High Host August Charger Camps

August 01, 2016

The new Leaman Junior High and Fulshear High School — opening adjacent to Cross Creek Ranch in August — are welcoming students a little early during Charger Camps, where students will prepare to wear the purple and black with pride.

The two-day, August orientation sessions are mandatory and will include tours of the new state-of-the-art campuses, receipt of schedules and the low-down on graduation requirements.

Fulshear High School, 9302 Bois D'Arc Lane, is holding Charger Camp Tuesday, Aug. 2, and Wednesday, Aug. 3. All incoming freshman and 10th grade band members will attend morning assemblies from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Sophomores, football players and ninth grade band students will attend from 1-3:30 p.m. During the sessions, students will meet Principal Daniel Ward, gain a better understanding of campus expectations and learn the new Charger fight song. All students will receive a school t-shirt.

Leaman Junior High School, 9320 Bois D'Arc Lane, is hosting its Charger Camp from 4 – 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, and Wednesday, Aug. 17. Students will be divided by grade. They will meet Principal Michael Semmler, learn school requirements and discover more about their new school. The school also will host an open house at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12.

School begins for all students Aug. 22. Cross Creek Ranch students attend schools in either the Lamar Independent School District or the Katy Independent School District. The new campuses are part of the Lamar CISD.
