Kayak Cross Creek Ranch April 22

Steer on over to Cross Creek Ranch for a day of water fun on the lake at the Welcome Center April 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Houston-based Fishing Tackle Unlimited will be on hand for the popular event with kayaks by Hobie, Native Watercraft, Perception and Wilderness that can be taken for a spin. Brand experts will be on hand to share information and expertise.

The event is free and no registration is required, but children must have parents present. All participants must sign a liability waiver. Event-goers can park at the Welcome Center on Cross Creek Bend Lane. Picnic baskets are not only welcome, but encouraged. Those arriving a little early for the kayaking event can shop bargains in the spring community garage sale going on 7 a.m. to noon that day.

This year’s Kayak on the Lake is one of many events open to the public during Houston’s Largest Home Tour. The tour, sponsored by Cross Creek Ranch developer, Johnson Development Corp., encourages the public to visit hundreds of homes, including 150 models in 14 Johnson communities throughout April.

Twenty-eight models in Cross Creek Ranch will be open for touring. A “Hit the Trails Family Fun Day” on April 29 also will be open to the public.
