Jaime Shipley to Lead New Elementary School

January 29, 2018

Our newest elementary school may not have a name (yet), but it does have a new principal, and we can’t wait to welcome Jaime Shipley to Cross Creek Ranch.

An experienced educator, Shipley obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education, Elementary and Early Childhood as well as her Master of Science degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from Baylor University.

Her administrative experience began as an instructional facilitator at Carrollton-Farmers Branch in 2006. Two years, later she became an elementary assistant principal at Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District. She was promoted to principal a year later. In 2013, Shipley became the principal of Schmalz Elementary in the Katy Independent School District and has led the campus for the past five years.

Katy ISD broke ground on Elementary School 41 last May. Slated to open this August, the 144,303-square-feet facility will accommodate 1,030 students. It joins Randolph Elementary as the second Katy ISD school to be located within our community.

The new school will be located at 3701 Cross Creek Bend Lane. It will be joined by an on-site high school in 2020. A new junior high school could open as early as 2019.

Cross Creek Ranch is zoned to not just one, but two highly regarded school districts — Katy ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD. Students zoned to Katy ISD currently attend Randolph Elementary, Seven Lakes Junior High School and Tompkins High School. Students zoned to Lamar CISD attend Huggins Elementary, Leaman Junior High School and Fulshear High School.
