Cross Creek Ranch and the Great Outdoors Are a Perfect Match

May 25, 2021

There’s a reason Cross Creek Ranch is considered a “naturehood.” Here, you’ll find shady trails, a multitude of lakes, wildlife habitats and lots of wildflowers. Let’s explore the many ways you can enjoy the great outdoors in Cross Creek Ranch:

Places to Play
While many communities have an amenity center in a central location, you’ll find amenities in Cross Creek Ranch throughout the development, meaning fun is often just a walk or bike ride away. Nineteen playgrounds are in the community, offering our young residents places to slide, climb, swing and play. Also prevalent is open space where you can picnic, play tag or simply enjoy the scenery.

More Places to Play
Sports fans of all ages can enjoy a little friendly competition at the many ball fields and courts found in Cross Creek Ranch. Arbor Park serves up tennis and basketball courts as well as sand volleyball. A soccer field and another basketball court are at Flewellen Park while the new Pine Park features more tennis and basketball as well as a putting green and facilities for wall-ball and pickleball. The Fields of Pine Park has general sports fields, including one for lacrosse. Play 18 holes at the Links at Flewellen Creek Disc Golf Course. Get the bat, some balls and a few friends for a game at our baseball field. And because we truly love basketball, there’s one more court at Adventure Island.

Keeping Cool
Texas summers are hot, which is why we have not one, but two water parks. Adventure Island features a 140-foot water slide while the pool at Greenthread Park has water slides and an in-the-water play area. Kiddos can also keep cool at the Adventure Island splash pad. The Cross Creek Ranch Krakens swim team call the Flewellen Creek Pool home base.

On the Water
While you can get in the water at one of our pools, you can get on the water on one of our many lakes. There are several kayak launches throughout Cross Creek Ranch and our lengthy waterways can test the endurance of the most rugged kayaker. Getting on the water also gives you a chance to find secret fishing holes for a little catch-and-release fishing.

Communing with Nature
Walk along the beautifully restored Flewellen Creek or head to the Polishing Pond Boardwalk — whichever you choose, make sure to bring binoculars to spy the many species of birds who either make their home in Cross Creek Ranch or stop here during migration. You’re likely to find other critters, as well. Another place to find a flying beauty? Our butterfly garden.

Creating Your Own Backyard Oasis
Anyone making the move to Cross Creek Ranch is lucky — especially if you’re a nature lover. But this summer, one person is going to be especially lucky because we’re giving away a $2,500 backyard oasis to someone who buys a new home in Cross Creek Ranch from June 1 to July 31. See what homes are available now or visit with one of our builders who are more than happy to welcome you to the “naturehood.”
